Sunday saw the first outing of the new toy (gun) at 100 yards. I had to rent a spotting scope (cheap at only $2!) in order to see the bullet holes in the target. But never the less I managed to get it somewhere close to zero-d:
Don't think it's too bad for a first attempt with a new rifle. As you can imagine the more bullets that were shot the closer to bullseye they came.
It was quite the experience spending time at a US gun range. There were a whole host of other people firing all types of things - some of them so loud you could feel a shock wave hit you in the chest from 20 feet on either side!
Yesterday (Sunday) we were also invited along to the Spradling / Robertson (Melissa's mum and stepdad's) family Christmas celebration. The prime rib was pretty special and we got to play baseball out in the field behind the house. We also watched a pretty cool game called White Elephant which is kind of like a variation on secret santa but you're allowed to steal presents from people......for more info check this out. IT was pretty funny watching people's delight at receiving a cool gift crushed in front of them!
Next weekend (28th December) we'll be back down in South Texas at Rhonda's ranch to celebrate Christmas with them and their family.
