Scotland bound.....

So a couple of weeks ago we boarded a plane in Houston bound for Aberdeen to spend sometime with the family.  It's a pretty long flight home (9.5 hours!) but thankfully we both managed to get a little sleep on the plane.  On arrival we got a bit of a run around at the hire car desk.  Basically I had booked a hire care on Expedia.com but when we arrived it transpired that there was no insurance with it.  So after some frantic phoning around and eventually booking the hire car again on my phone (don't ask) we managed to get it all sorted and, thankfully, it only cost an extra $20!

We had a real whirl wind tour booked which started with the long drive to Tighnabruaich to visit Shona and Chris and their new baby Struan.  IT was really nice to be back in Scotland and see some hills.

Chris and Shona have been building their house and it's so close to being done now.  They're doing an amazing job and we know it's going to be brilliant when they're finished.  They have some absolutely incredible views to the Kyles of Bute from all of the windows.

After leaving Tinny it was off to Glasgow via the Dunoon ferry (very cold!) to visit Laura's mum and family.  We had a very late Christmas celebration with them - ate and drank way too much.

From Glasgow it was back off up to Aberdeen to catch up with family and friends.  It's been a while since we've seen some them so it was great to catch up with everybody.

The weather could have been better (Laura after walking 100 yards down Union St in the rain!)

The following weekend we were back on the road South to Edinburgh (Fife actually) to meet Keith and Loretta.  When we arrived Gillian and Martin were also there - great surprise guys!

Keith and his fruit salad!

Last stop before heading back to Aberdeen for the wedding was Ali and Claire's house in Edinburgh to meet their new baby (everyone seems to be doing it!).
